I am often asked to recommend organising products, either for client projects or followers’ own home organising. First of all, I truly believe that the best organising products are the ones that you already have at home. And I always recommend that you sort and edit your belongings first, so that you know exactly what you need to source.

However, the right organising product used in the right place can help to get your home more organised! By giving each item a home, you increase the chances of it being put back where it belongs. So here are my ten favourite organising products, which I use in client projects and in my own home!*

Velvet hangers

Using the same hangers throughout your wardrobe instantly make everything look more organised. The velvet ones grip the clothes really well, and they are slimline so you can fit more in. These are my go-to hangers and come in various quantities.

Drawer dividers:

As the saying goes, divide and conquer! Containing is my number one tip for keeping your home more organised. Divide larger spaces into smaller compartments to give each category of your belongings a home. I love the IKEA “SKUBB” boxes – little canvas boxes that fit into drawers and shelves to keep your items contained and visible.

iDesign clear bins:

Sturdy, stackable and versatile, iDesign’s range of clear bins are the perfect solution for containing items in your kitchen, pantry, bathroom and playroom. iDesign have been producing their range of versatile clear bins for years, but with their partnership with The Home Edit are proving more popular than ever.

iDesign turntables:

I use these turntables to store bottles and jars in kitchen cupboards, so that everything is in reach with a quick twirl! I used to think turntables were a waste of space because they are circular, but that is more than made up for by the accessibility they bring to deeper cupboards. On my desk for stationery, in my storeroom for organising bits and pieces, in my bathroom for beauty products, and in the art cupboard for pens and pencils – I use turntables everywhere I can!

Shelf risers:

When you need more vertical space in a cupboard, add a shelf riser. A quick and easy way to instantly double your cupboard space. I’ve also used them in my own wardrobe as a shoe rack, and in my office as a laptop stand!

Boxes you already have:

Shop your home first before buying any organising products. Shoe boxes, old phone boxes, trays and magazine files all double-up as functional storage. For free! (And have you noticed that the more you declutter, the more boxes you find?)

Command hooks:

For hanging the pictures you never seemed to get around to hanging, creating easily accessible jewellery storage on the back of your wardrobe door, or hanging up the washing up gloves inside the kitchen cupboard… there’s a Command hook for everything!

Baskets:

Versatile, eco-friendly and pretty to look at, baskets are a go-to product at More Organised. I especially like to use them in linen cupboards, children’s rooms and bookshelves. Hide ugly tech and home media items in a basket, where it can still be accessible for daily use. It’s amazing how pretty things look when they are hidden in a good basket!

Really Useful Boxes:

Really Useful Boxes are hard-working, stackable boxes that come with perfectly fitting lids, and in a variety of sizes too. I use the big 84 litre ones for attic storage, the 34 litre ones for archiving business documents, and the tiny ones for craft storage.

Labels:

My trusty label maker is what makes the magic happen… turning a simple container into a dedicated home for each category of items. Labelling encourages us to return items to their proper home, and helps other family members get on board with keeping things tidy.

I have many more favourite products but these are the ones that I go back to time and time again. I’d love to hear what you favourite organising products are too – please share in the comments!
