Decluttering and organising in Dumfries & Galloway
You might be wondering how it all works, what to expect, or whether this is the right kind of support for you.
These are some of the questions I’m most often asked. If you don’t see your question here, you’re always very welcome to get in touch. There’s no pressure, just a friendly conversation to see how I can help.
The first step is a conversation. This can be a phone call, Zoom call, or email – whatever feels easiest for you.
We’ll talk about what’s going on, what you’d like help with, and whether we’re a good fit to work together. From there, I’ll suggest the best way forward.
Not at all. In fact, it’s much more helpful if you don’t.
We work with you as things really are, meeting you where you are at, without judgement. This is a safe, supportive space, and there’s no expectation for anything to be “ready” before we start.
It’s also very helpful for us to see how you live, where things naturally gather, and where your sticking points are.
No. Absolutely not! You’re always in control of what stays and what goes.
Our role is to guide, support, and ask helpful questions, coaching you through the decluttering process and reminding you of your goals. But every decision is yours, and we respect that.
We’re here to help, whatever stage you are at. That’s why we do what we do.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you reach out to us. Many clients come to us feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or stuck in their situation. We take it one step at a time, at your pace. And a chat is the best place to start!
Absolutely.
Your privacy is very important to us. In fact, confidentiality is a core value of More Organised.
We don’t share client details or photos (unless you want us to), and we always work with respect and discretion. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Please don’t let that stop you from reaching out. That’s why we are here to help.
We’ve worked with many clients in all sorts of situations, and there is absolutely no judgement, only friendly, practical support.
When we arrive at your home, we’ll have a quick chat and check in with how you’re feeling. Then we’ll make a gentle start, working side-by-side, at a pace that feels manageable for you.
That might include sorting through items, making decisions, creating simple systems, and putting things back in a way that works for your daily life.
Every home and situation is different.
Some clients need just a few sessions to reset a specific space, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period of time. We’ll talk about what feels realistic and helpful for you.
We’ll always be clear about pricing before we begin. Rates are based on £45 per hour, per organiser, but the exact cost of your project depends on the type of support you need and how long we work together.
It is difficult to estimate how long a project will take and how much it will cost, but we’ll talk this through with you after our initial conversation.
Yes. We work both in person across Dumfries & Galloway and virtually via Zoom.
Virtual sessions can be a really effective, flexible option – especially for ongoing support or if you’re further afield. Mel Carruthers, owner and Chief Organising Officer, runs the online sessions, drawing from her 14 years of experience coaching clients.
Yes, absolutely. We can support you with decluttering before a move, unpacking and setting up your new home, or working through a home clearance at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.
If there’s something you’re wondering about that isn’t covered here, please do get in touch.
If it’s on your mind, there’s a good chance someone else is thinking the same thing too, and we’d like the opportunity to add it here so that everything is as clear as possible for anyone reading.
If you’re feeling ready (even just a little bit), the next step is simply a conversation.
You can get in touch in whatever way feels easiest for you, and we’ll take it from there. No pressure, no obligation, just a chance to talk things through and see how we can help.
