If you suddenly had to leave your home in an emergency, what would you grab to take with you? If you are in the majority of my clients who say photos, memories, albums… are they ready? What if you couldn’t take your albums with you – are your photos and memories backed up and accessible?
Photos are such a valuable part of our memories, our story, our legacy. As I watched the devastation caused by recent natural disasters across the Americas and Asia, I realised that in times of loss, it is our memories and albums that give us comfort. I’m very fortunate never to have been threatened by such devastating emergencies, but I have been in a house fire and been burgled, each event being a serious threat to my photos and memories.
So I was comforted by this brilliant post by Becky Higgins – creator of the Project Life memory-keeping system – detailing how to safeguard your memories and photos from disasters big and small.
If you read one thing today, read Becky’s post and start making steps towards securing your memories for the future.
